TXST FL3X Space

Monday, April 6, 12 PM

For their FL3X Space show, San Marcos Projection Mapping Pop-Up Exhibition, students in ARTC 4319: Design for Experiences present projection-mapped motion graphic installations that explore the culture, environment, and communal identity of San Marcos. Working in small teams, students translate research and data into immersive visual narratives—“Data Portraits” that reveal patterns, stories, and impressions of place. This pop-up exhibition highlights experimental approaches to data visualization, experiential design, and projection mapping as students transform information into immersive visual experiences.

Artist Talk: Brittany Ham + Justin Korver

Coinciding with their FL3X exhibition, After the Bonfire, Brittany Ham and Justin Korver will hold an artist talk about their co-working practice and collaboration—an opportunity for art students to engage with the creative potential found in collaborative art practice and the importance of building bonds within their local art community.

From the Artists

We have been co-creating artwork since 2018. Our joint practice is based in our intersecting interests in pictorial space and the materiality of European hunting tapestries, and we were drawn to the medium because of its engagement with landscape, gender, and the discourse of power. Our practice co-opts the stylization and narrative structures of these tapestries while reformulating their power dynamics to align with more balanced and ethical relationships in the human and more-than-human world.
