Artist and TXST alumnus Alexander Kamelhair will lead a forging demonstration and workshop, demonstrating the age-old art of shaping metal with heat and hammers. This workshop offers a rare opportunity to experience the physicality and precision of a practice that has connected makers to material and form for thousands of years.

Led by American Communal Industries (ACI), this community collaging circle will take place at the Fighting Stallions statue in the west end of the Quad (the plaza between Derrick Hall and Evans Liberal Arts Building). Supplies will be provided!

Join TXST alumni Alexander Kamelhair, Chantal Lesley, Jacqueline Overby, and Ryan Runcie in conversation with student Daniel Benjamin. Together they discuss their creative practices—spanning metalwork, photography, sculpture, and public art—and reflect on how their experiences at TXST continue to inform their work today.

Eric Acuña earned his BFA with a focus in Expanded Media studies from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. He is currently a master’s student, studying as a research assistant for New Media at the University of Texas in San Antonio.
