2025 STUDENT juried exhibition: Call for Entries

Exhibition Dates: March 24 – April 13
This annual juried competition celebrates the distinguished work of Texas State University students. This year’s juror is interdisciplinary artist and educator Nina Katchadourian.
Eligibility
Open to all majors and non-majors who have taken a course within the School of Art and Design since fall 2023.
Artworks must have been created during or after that semester, though they do not need to have been made in a School of Art and Design course.
Artwork previously exhibited in a Student Juried Exhibition is not eligible, nor is work planned for installation in the FL3X or B.F.A. Thesis Exhibitions this semester.
Submission instructions
Submit the following in a single email to txstgalleries@txstate.edu with the subject line: “Student Juried Exhibition.”
All images and your checklist must be included in one email—please do not send these items separately.
Up to 2 entries per student.
Each entry may include up to 3 detail images, if necessary.
Submit entires as JPEGs (1024px max @72 ppi is ideal); individual files should be no larger than 2 MB.
Audio or Video entries may be submitted as standard file formats or via a link to a video hosting site.
Label files as: YourLastName_FirstInitial_TitleOfWork.jpg
Include a checklist with your submission containing the following information for each artwork:
Last name
First name
Artwork title
Artwork year
Artwork medium
Artwork dimensions in inches (h x w x d)
Selected artworks must arrive to TXST Galleries exhibition-ready: mounted, framed, with hardware installed, with any special installation instructions included.
Please note: the artwork delivered must match the work selected by the juror.
IMPORTANT DATES
February 14: Entries DUE by 11:59 PM
March 10: Selected students notified by email
March 17 & 18: Selected artworks delivered to the Galleries between 10 AM and 5 PM
March 24 – April 13: Student Juried Exhibition on view at TXST Galleries
March 24, 5–6 PM: Opening Reception
Awards
1 Best in Show Award of $500.
Recipient may be featured in next year’s Student Juried Exhibition publicity materials.Up to 2 Juror’s Merit Awards of $250 each.
